Phillips 47PFL5432D/37 flashing LED and blown capacitors Can't Post

The power LED flashed 6 times (long) and 3 times (short). I took the back panel off and found 4 blown capacitors, two on a board labeled master and two on another board labeled slave. I haven't been able to find out exactly what the flashing error code means, and I don't want to put the money and time into replacing the capacitors if there is a high chance of there being other problems.

Caps are cheap and are fairly ez to replace. Replacing them will then let you know if your TV has 'other problems.'

Just replaced them, and nothing has changed. Still goes straight to 6 then 3 flashes with nothing showing on screen. What seems to happen is that it turns on, see's that something is wrong, and turns back on. You can hear it power on and back off. I"ve looked at the power board several times and haven't noticed anything wrong.

Service Manual available many places online. Google "(your model number here) service manual".

The only relevant part on error codes and fault finding only talks about bringing up service menu's for a working tv. There's nothing about what the service code/flashing means.

SEE - Table 5-2 Error code overview (pdf pg 32)

Also:

Quote
• Error 63 (POWER OK). When this error occurs, it means
that the POWER-OK line did not became “high”. This error
is only applicable for TV’s with a LCD display. For PDP
displays there will be no protection during a POWER-OK
line failure, but error 63 will be logged in the error buffer.
Caution: in case a PDP TV ends up into power-ok
protection, it can indicate that the display option code is set
to “LCD”. To change the display option code to “PDP” you
need to activate SDM via the service pads. Then change
the display option code blindly via a standard RC: key in the
code “062598” directly followed by the “MENU” button and
“XXX” (where XXX is the 3 digit decimal display option
code as mentioned in figure “Display option code
overview”.

Quote
• Blinking LED procedure in case of a protection. In this case
the error is automatically blinked. This will be only one
error, namely the one that is causing the protection.
Therefore, you do not have to do anything special, just read
out the blinks. A long blink indicates the decimal digit, a
short blink indicates the units.
