Phillips Magnavox screen turns purple Can't Post

I have a 27" Phillips Magnavox television from maybe 6 years ago. a few months ago the screen started acting up. It would work normal for about 30-45minutes then the screen begins to turn purple. The image is always visible but the colors just start to change to hues of purple

Any ideas? Is it worth getting fixed or just toss it?

Thanks!

The purple screen indicates that you are loosing the green component from your video. The problem could be in the green drive transistor or low emission from the green gun in the CRT. Magnovox CRTs are usually pretty reliable but from your description sounds like it may be the latter. You will need a CRT tester to find out for sure. Meanwhile, you might want to check out www.FreeFlatScreens.com/?r=10948674 for an oportunity to earn a free replacement for this set with a little effort on your part.
