vcand;....

Did you try what I posted in post #44 concerning focus ????....Shocked....
jts1957 is right , use a gob of RTV/Silicone sealant...
Use something similar to "duct" tape to keep it in place...
Do not use the TV till the silicone is cured....
A spark CAN/WILL ignite it & then goodbye TV , house , pets & maybe wiff....
Let it set overnight before you move the set...
Remove the "duct" tape....

If you still have convergence problems , let us know....

GOOD LUCK & Enjoy the TV....

Re: [Ron.M] RCA: No Red [In reply to] Can't Post

Hey,

I don't know if you're still around, but long time no update. The TV worked great through most of the summer. The focus was never really 100% (maybe I was expecting too much out of it). In about July, the blue started leaking AGAIN, then the red board died (good thing I have a backup).

When I put the blue tube back together, I siliconed everything. I did notice that the expansion bulb on the top was really stretched out from the previous problem, so I used a lot of sealer on that part and sealed it every which way. My thoughts is that it was a temp. fix and that I need to actually replace the seals.

Any chance you would know the part number or which seal kit I need? I seem to be unable to find it.

What backup ????
I saw this;=>....

There was 2 boards; the one from this auction is "kinda" similar and looks like an older board. The second board is identical in every way to mine, but one of the sockets need to be swapped because the little groove is a litte different.

IF you mean the "kinda" similar and looks like an older board" , I would NOT use it as you could cause more trouble....
Remember what we went thru the 1st time around ???
Get the RIGHT board....

Go here & cross your EXACT model number for the correct board....

Get the number & "Google" it for suppliers & prices....

I STILL don't have a decent manual for your TV....
But , thru some ingenuity , I did get a part number for the expansion cover...
Seems like they can't make up their minds as to what to call it...
It's a "Rubber Cap" or a "gasket" or ????

Anyway here's what I found....
Part number:...254599
I'm about 99,9% certain that is the number....
I found it at MCM....
They call it;...DIAPHRAGM(GASKET)...
It's special order....(Translates to "mo money")...
I suggest you call them to verify it's for the coolant cap....
Also you can PM "board repair" & see if he would be kind enough to look it up in his massive reserve of RCA manuals...
That way you should get the right part number....

When you get past this stuff , come back & we'll give this another shot;=>...

Yes I know, lots of fun!!!

The "kinda" board, was actually identical; it was older, looked a little aged, and had some caps and stuff that looked different but had the same values. That is the one I used to fix it, and it worked.

The newer board, well, is identical but the plug is slightly different, so I will swap the plug out. I looked over all aspects of the board and EVERYTHING (plug aside) is identical.

(he sent 2 because he wasn't sure which one was right. they are both ITC222 chassis from RCA 52")

Thanks for the part number, I'll contact them on Monday.

As far as the coolant leak, none on the boards. I will give RCA credit on that aspect, it looks like they planned on eventual leaks and have a drip pan and plastic wall to catch the fluid.
