RCA 36648 ctc203 intermittant startup Can't Post

well, thats no longer the case. now, it wont stsrt up at all. I monitor the power supply, many voltages are there, no change when the button is pushed. got good B+ on HOT, no relay click. What part of the power supply does the power switch eventually turn on?

Jump the start relay. Will that start the TV? If so replace relay, if not backtrace start relay find where loss of voltage occurs. Likely this will be a small transformer. Good luck

The relay is not being energized. the diagram i have is slightly different. this is a -CA7 chassis. the system control unit is in a shielded box on the side. it has 5v and the power switch is getting the signal to the CPU, but nothing is coming out. i don't usually suspect MPU units. it is usually some bad input it has somewhere.

also, does anyone know what Q901 can be replaced with? It's an SMD, NPN used as a switch ( 5volts on the base, 0 on E). I dropped it on the floor.

Well, I see 3 things Q901 could be: Q11901 (Chassis transistor part #215495) , Q14901(Chassis transistor p# 147665), Q26901 (Transistor in Analog comb filter p#215496). If you want to get some of those through us, Bursma, let me know.
