RCA HD50LPW42 50 in. Rear Projection HDTV Television black/pruple vertical line Can't Post

RCA HD50LPW42 50 in. Rear Projection HDTV Television
has black and purple line on far right side. Not a clean vertical line but has rough edges and is tapered from thicker to narrow the further up you go. this line is semi-transparent and you can see the picture through it but it's discolored and dark. This line is about 2-3 inches at the bottom and 1/2 inch at the top, it is jagged like a break ir crack.

Any help would be great. I was told this could be a crack in the ulb or mirror if that helps anyone.
It looks like that your problem is your DMD board here is a link that will give you some great info on how this board works, http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm this board has tiny mirrors that reflect the light from the lamp to the screen and give you the digital picture they turn on and off to reflect the light to the screen on the ON position, and away of it at the OFF position.
So the dark areas, are full of mirrors on the OFF position and between them there are some at the ON position, that is the reason why you have a little bit of image on the dark area, more at the edges of the dark areas. This happen because the DMD was overheating, and there's a chance it might get worse. You can buy this DMD board and replace it with a tech, the cheaper place for this parts are www.discount-merchant.com , I bought some parts from them as well.
