RCA Home Theater TV audio Problem Can't Post

I hooked a pair of sony floor speakers up to the telvision, and in doing so, after turning the tv up, and about 20 minutes of fine audio, i pushed the balance to one side, the tv started smoking, and turned off. After about 30 mins of unplugging it, i plugged her back in, turned it on. I got picture, but no audio, niether internal nor external. Ive been told it may be a fryed audio output chip. I can get my hands on the chip, but i cant find it inside the TV. Any help, or ideas, or schematics would be helpful. I really dont want to pay the $70 service charge. Im electronic saavy, just dont know what an audio ouput chip looks like!?
