RCA L32HD35D digital channel signal strength is low Can't Post

The TV is hooked up to DISH network. I have 2 TVs running off the same receiver and the other TV works fine, so we can rule DISH out.

I am thinking that I need to rescan the channels, but cannot figure out how to do it. I have the Owners Manual and the only scanning mentioned is when you first power it up for the first time.

Any help is greatly appreciated..

Swap outputs anyway (at box and TV - there could be a bad coax or connector). If problem goes to other set, DISH box IS most likely bad.

Thanks JTs1957. I thought about that and was going to try that as the last resort due to the way everything is hooked up. Appreciate the reply and suggestion!!

I'm still leaning towards trying to figure out how to scan for channels. In the setup menu I found where you can Add/Delete channels. When I go there, no channels appear to add or delete. And of course there is no scan function:))

Crazy Unless I missed something, why would you need to scan channels if you are using a Sat?

Because when I got this TV, part of the setup process that happened when I first turned it on was to scan the channels. It seemed like it would save them, probably in memory(??). Then when you had the option of going thru another step of deleting the channels you did not want to watch.

So when I turn the TV on, it would always go to the last channel I watched. Then I could use the remote to go up and down to change the channels. You are also supposed to be able to go into the setup menu and ADD or Delete the channels that you want.

When I go to that function now, no channels appear at all. When I turn the TV on, no channels appear. Just that dumb msg in the Subject line:))

What output ARE you using from the satellite box? If coaxial, TV must remain on the channel box specifies. If RCA (Audio/Video) or other, then TV must remain on that Input.

In either case, the station changing will be done with the satellite box/remote.

Thanks for the reply.
Nothing has changed. Same hookup as it has been for 10 years or so:)) We are just trying to watch TV.

Nothing fancy, no computers involved etc, strictly coming from the dish to the TV. What I really would like to know is how to scan channels to reset it. RCA apparently does not have any support that I have been able to find. I would be willing to spend an hour or two to talk to someone across the world if they could tell me how to do it:))

Let me get this straight. Where as most people leave their TV on a certain channel/input and tune the stations with their satellite box, you are the exception and leave the satellite box alone and tune the stations on your RCA TV? Angelic

No, I'm like most people. The problem was I wasn't able to see what channel I was on. Just a black screen with that message on it. Since the other TV worked just fine I didn't think the problem was with DISH. I thought that rescanning the channels on the tv would correct that. I had read in another forum where someone else has that problem quite often and recscanning fixes it for them so I figured it was worth a shot.

As of this morning, the TV works. I was going to move that TV into the other room to hook it up to the same cable to see if the problem was with the TV. Turned it on, and presto. Everything works just fine. Maybe that TV is more sensitive to the signal than the other one that is hooked up. The one that was working had a good picture etc. If it was a DISH problem I would have thought the picture wouldn't have been so great on it, but it was.
