RCA Model f27650 High pitch squeal Can't Post

RCA Model f27650 TV is about 2 years old, when plugged in there is a high pitch squeal and a clicking noise from rear of set , no picture or sound. Opened rear of set and transformer was hot to the touch.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

This is a common symptom of a bad HOT and/or flyback transformer. Probably the latter.

Thanks for your help but I understand RCA has had alot of problems with their sets i've only had the tv for 2 years. I am afraid something else will go bad so i'll cut my losses and buy a new set . I have a Sony thats lasted 15 years, Maybe i'll look at Sony. I just wanted an inexpensive tv for the bedroom, one drawback is Sony's weigh a ton.

Thanks again!

Save yourself some money. Instead of a Sony, consider a Sharp or Panasonic. They are a lot less expensive and have a good reliablity record.
