RCA TV turns on/off intermittently Can't Post

RCA Colortrac 27" TV 1996 Model, Sometimes will not turn on. If switch is left on, TV will turn "ON" , on its own (5-20mins). If TV is on, it will shut off on its own, then back on at a later time. If it is cold in the room it seems to be worse.
Thanks
Chris

Re: [csasolutions] RCA TV turns on/off intermittently [In reply to] Can't Post

this sounds like a drive transistor problem ,driver amp transistor, find on inside back of set and replace,.

This sounds quite unususal since the power switch will be a momentary one.
Do you have the remote control for this set, if so, try turning it on with it.

Let me correct my post. The switch is not a momentary one,
but it only makes contact while it is being depressed.
So you depress it once and the set should turn on,
and you depress it again, and it should turns off.
