Rear Projection TV Color Out Can't Post
I have a Panasonic Rear Projection TV. It is roughly 5 years old.
The model number is PT-56WX33G
Today when the TV was turned on, it did not show a picture. The TV turns on and as I hit the TV/VIDEO button, I cannot see it switch between inputs. When I turn the lights off in the room, I can see a red, yellow, and blue line about the length of a ruler.
I have the sound running through a receiver, so I cannot test to see if it is working. I have unplugged the tv and plugged it back in. I have it hooked to a Universal Power Supply (UPS) so I should be safe from changes in power.
Do rear projection tv's have bulbs like DLP tv's?

These sets were bad for a capacitor going bad, I can't remember the value of the cap but the part number on the board is c509. The part should cost less than $1. -- Dan

Thanks, the value of the cap is CAP P .47UF - J - 200V . I ordered the service manual online, so this weekend hopefully I can check some points on the board to see if the value is correct. I am by far a novice, so I may find that it would just be easier to let a pro handle it.

I found a place that sold the cap. After spending $1.37, my TV is functioning properly again. While I was in there, I cleaned the guns as well. Thanks, you all saved me atleast 250 dollars!
