As best my memory serves me, you don't loosen the bracket from the neck of the CRT. I believe that there is a lip on the tab that goes through the CRT board and all you have to do is press the tab in so that the lip is released. As old as that set is, maybe you should start considering a replacment. Check www.FreeFlatScreens.com/?r=10948674 for an opportunity to earn a free replacement with a little effort on your part.
