SONY KV27TS27 - 27.05.2005 Can't Post

Hi,

I have a SONY TV model KV27TS27 made in 1992 that is shutting down by itself randomly. When it does so, it is very hard to bring it back on. As soon as I turn it on, it shuts down. notable to mention that the image folds vertically sometimes when trying to bring it back on.

What could be the problem ? what is causing this ?

How to fix it ?

Thanks for any help.

Shad

Maybe bad caps in Power supply or Vertical section

This sounds more like a vertical problem than a high voltage problem. Check the area around IC 301 for bad solder joints. Also suspect that electrolytic caps C533 and C535 may be bad. Check the standby light for 4 blinks which would indicate the set is in vertical shutdown. You might also want to check out www.FreeFlatScreens.com/?r=10948674 for an opportunity to earn a free replacement for this set with a little effort on your part.
