Hi all!

I have a problem with this LCD TV.

When I turn on the TV I hear a 'welcome sound' and I can see that the screen backlight turns on also, but doesn't show any image (black but shined screen).

I don't know if the 'welcome sound' proves that sound is OK because I don't hear sound of the channels, but this could be because the channels aren't tuned on this TV.

I have read some posts and repair manuals, and I think it could be a problem with the T-con Board, but i'm not 100% sure about it because I don't have a multimeter and don't have much knowledge on electronics.

Could you help me on this?

Proves the audio output circuit is capable of working. You must have an active source (at least one other: TV, Ext.1, Ext.2, AV, S-Video, Component, PC, HDMI, DTV) connected and selected to prove sound is OK.

Look into the back of set and observe if back lights 1) light; and 2) stay lit (until you turn off TV).
Is Menu present?

Thank you for the answer!

Back lights are active until I turn off the TV.

Tomorrow I will test the sound with a tablet connected by HDMI and I tell you if I can hear something.

I don't know what do you mean when you say:

Hi jTS1957!

I have tested the sound with the HDMI input and it works!

By the way, I don't know why, but now the back lights don't keep shining. Firstly when I turn on the TV they turn on but just only for a moment, and then they turn off definitely.

And yes, there is a menu button on the remote control and on the TV, if you mean that.

Hi jts1957!

I have to clarify the situation. When I opened the back case of the tv to see where were the different components, I put out the connection between the main board and the inverter, and later I put in again but in the incorrect place Crazy

. I have realized that, and put the connection ok, and now the situation is as at the begining:

Backlights are shining al the time when I turn on the TV, sound is OK, but I can't see the menu on the screen using a flashlight.

Does volume raise and lower? and can you see the volume indicator (number or bar) following the change?

Can't find good info or pix of tcon. If it has SM fuses check them.

Tcon is cheaper than panel. (If you can find either)

After a couple of minutes with the TV on, the screen has starting to show the image of the hdmi input!! Now I can see the video OK.

I'm afraid to turn off the TV again and see what would happen the next time I turn it on...

What could have happened?

IF panel is bad, set not worth fixing.
Shop for a new set.
