Samsung LED TV UN39FH5000F Backlight issues Can't Post

Hello,
I have a Samsung UN39FH5000F LEDTV that i got in September of 2013. Last week i turned it on and the picture did not turn on with it. After watching a troubleshooting video by ShopJimmy.com, i discovered there is still a picture but no backlighting. On the video it recommended that the led driver board be replaced to fix the issue. I have replaced the old hybrid power supply/LED driver board in the TV with a new one and this did not solve the problem. Could it be that the bulbs of the backlight need to be replaced? If so, where in the TV are they and how can I replace them? I have very little knowledge of electronics so any help is greatly appreciated!

I have an identical problem with a Westinghouse LED TV purchased in November 2013. This is clearly a common problem and several people have asked about this. I also viewed a video by ShopJimmy.com on YouTube and their staff suggested that I replace the power supply board. I used a multimeter to measure some voltages, and there are some cables that I am guessing control the backlights. When plugged in, voltage goes from 0V to 6V and when I turn the TV on, it goes up to 66V. I don't have a good board to compare it to, so I can't be sure it's right, but intuitively, the power supply board seems fine.

I have seen many videos of individuals who fixed their LCD TV by swapping their inverter boards, but I haven't come across anyone who has successfully fixed their LED TV backlights. I wonder what is likely to have failed after just one year. Given how common this problem is, I imagine there is also a most common source of the problem. I will keep posting to this thread as I try to learn more. I will also encourage other people with the same problem to post to this thread, so we can hopefully find a solution for all of us.

Hello I had same problem but I have fixed mine now. Someone on here told me to check that my led’s on the back light strips had not blown after testing I found that I had two leds blown. So got hold of two new led strips off eBay and replaced them and it’s been working great since

How I fixed my TV was first I took the screen out so I didn't break it then I tested the led strips I took all the strips out and just put one in the bottom turned the TV on and got a millimetre set it on 20v then tested where the next row of leds would clip in + & - (turning TV off every time I unclipped and inserted a new row). If I had a small voltage reading I knew that the circuit wasn’t open (not blown) until I tested all the row’s .twice I didn’t get a small voltage on the next insert clips so replaced both those rows and bingo works great. I am not a TV repair man I just doing it for fun and love repairing them there might be easier ways to test them but this is what worked for me &lt;br&gt; <br>

I took my TV apart as well and discovered that 4 out of the 32 LEDs were bad. You can easily see they are bad because they have a brown color to them and the back of the strip has a black spot that makes it obvious the LED is bad. I kept seeing that 66 volts is supplied by the power supply. I wonder if that's too high and that's why so many LEDs got burned out. LEDs are supposed to last much longer than other types of bulbs.

I can't find the specifications (for input voltage) for any LED strips for any LED TV brand. I was hoping I could use a generic LED strip of some kind because I suspect the ones I have will just keep going bad.

Not sure of the voltage of whole lot just knew each one is 3v one of mine had brown on back and the other didn’t .the one that didn’t wasn’t coming on but wasn’t a Brocken circuit so at first I took the bad one off and jumped it with solder it lasted 2 minutes and then the next one in line went so I thought where one was missing it took to much voltage to the next one. All have to be perfect or none will work. Sorry for way its typed but not good at typing
