Samsung Plasma Dark picture for first few minutes

I have a 58" Samsung Plasma that is about 5 years old. When I first turn the TV on it is very dark half the time. Then after it runs a few minutes the picture suddenly gets normal. Any clue as to what that is? I need 2 -3 guys to remove it from the wall since it above my fireplace mantle and it is heavy as hell. When I put it up we almost dropped it so I want to know what to look for when I get 2 guys over here on ladders to help me take it down. Any advice appreciated especially if you have seen this issue before.
