Samsung Plasma FP-T5094W will not power on? Can't Post

Hi,

I have had a Samsung Plasma FP-T5094W for about 4 years now and for about 2 or 3 months i have been having problems with it with no power. I figured out the problem it was a fuse that was blown on the power supply (BN44-00175A). Its the fuse just above the AC Power Input. I replace that fuse and it works for about a month and then it blows again. I tried to find a service manual for this TV but didn't have any luck. I checked all the caps and they seem to be fine. Any easy suggestions i should try first? I can just replace the fuse each time but its just a temporary fix.

thanks for your help

See if the fuse holder is dis-colored. If so, replace it.

That is a fairly common problem with those (fuse holder overheating).

Good luck,

thanks for the reply, i think your right it definately could be the fuse holder because it is discolored and a little bit melted looking at it closely.

Where can i buy a fuse holder for this board?

Look at any electronics parts supplier. Radio Shack might even have them.

My fuse holder recently melted due to poor contacts. I cant find any replacement parts and part store customer service for Samsung isnt much help. They said I need a new power board when in fact I know I just need a new holder for 250v 12a slow burn fuse. My question is, does it matter what holder I buy? Its a 5mm x 20mm fuse. I dont know where to go from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No. As long as fuse fits and contacts can handle current rating.

Hard-wired with shrink tubing should also work.

Okay, just as not to confuse myself, as long as it holds a 5x20 and rated for 250v 12 a, then I'm good? If so, I'm buying today. Cant believe the parts store wanted me to buy the entire board Crazy

Could someone link the part I should use or a site they prefer? I'm still having some trouble finding exactly what I'm looking for
