Samsung plasma TV with wide unusual black wide band

Hi
I have searched the posts and looked at hundreds of images of plasma tv's with screen issues but I have not found anything that represents my issue. My tv has a wide band just below center that at the moment is mostly white with pinkish colours. I thought this was the pink banding that people have issues with so I adjusted the VS pot inside the tv and I can get the pink/white banding to go away but the band just turns to black. Within the horizontal band the image changes depending on what is on the screen above and below it. When I opened up the tv I noticed that the screen is divided into six wide bands and I connected and reconnected each ribbon cable to see if it would improve. It is like one section has failed in some way.
The issue happened suddenly. One second the picture was normal and the next it was bad. Does not come back to normal no matter what wires I mess with.
What board needs to be replaced.
