Re: [jts1957] Sanyo DP32648 Lightning Hit [In reply to] Can't Post

Backprobing the connector on the power supply board give the following resistance measurements.
24v to sgrnd - 117.7 ohms
12 to sgrnd - 81.7
Any ideas yet?

Can you give & from here forward use location number along with any part information you provide?

Umm maybe its just me but I cant make heads nor tales of that jts :).... Are asking if I know how to find the part locations on the diagram or board? If so, yes I can.

the larger transform (T???); a bad Mosfet 16N25C (Q/IC/TR?)

Ahh yes the large transformer is labled NT601 on the pcb board. The transformer itself is labeled: MP-130B (01) / MH-DP7181 Delta / BCWM 0827(02)P3 . The Mosfet I replaced is labled Q602 on the pcb board (part# FQP-16N25C).
The only way I can check the Mosfets is to check for an open,, Charge the mosfet using the diode check on my meter then, recheck for close. There is another mosfet that seems sketchy (Q905 on pcb board, part # FQPF5N60C) though I believe it is good. It passes open check,, charge,, passes close but returns to open before removing the test lead.
Do the resistances I posted for the 12v and 24v lines seem ok to you?

All, I presume, are associated with the power supply unit (?1AV4U20C17201?) which I don't believe has any schematic coverage in any SM mentioned. SM does show Ins/Outs only on a block diagram.

Resistances seem O.K.

Yes,, Sorry I forgot to mention that they were all located on the the power supply unit. I have been trying to locate a schema for the power board but to no avail.
Heres what I know so far just to recap the situation.
12v and 24v output from the power board are both dead.
5v standby from the power board is good.
PSON is receiving a 5v signal when the set is turned on, but is shut down 10 seconds after being turned on (presumably by IC800 not sensing a 12v or 24v presence).
All Rectifiers, mosfets, MOV's, resistors, and diodes that are not smd have tested good.
All capacitors have been replaced with new ones of equal value.
The small transformer is working correctly and providing the 5v line.
The larger transformer is recieving 120v when the set is powered on. This voltage slowy dissipates after the sets turns of on its own.
On the secondary side of the large transformer I am only getting a 7v+- from one of the legs (could be two I will double check this tomorrow).
So from what I can tell, the 5v standy is operating correctly. The main board is operating the start-up circuit correctly. The power supply start-up circuit is being triggered correctly and supplying AC to the primary side of the 12v / 24v transfomer,
I have pulled the transformer from the board and checked it for shorts / opens. All seems to be ok here unless I missed something.
Well its time for me to pack it in for the night. I will try to get some good pics of this board in the morning. Thanks a million for all the help so far! This is quickly becoming personal between me and this tv set. :)

Well I thought I would give Sanyo a call and see if I could get a schematic e-mailed to me for the power board. I have done this many times in the past with other companies,, pssssshhh! My view on Sanyo as a company just hit the floor... :)

Ok, just an update here. I found a complete board set on E-Bay for $48 shipped. Got them in and replaced the power board and main board in one of the tv's and it fired right up. Now I need to look around for a remote so I can get to the menu and change some setting for use on a PC. I belive I am going to order another power supply board to fix the other tv as well. Thank you all.
