I have a Sharp 35LD956B that just turned off one day. When I try to turn it back on it makes the sounds like its turning on for about one second then turns off. No picture or sound comes through during the short time that it's on.
I then unpluged the TV and haven't touched it for about a month. Then I removed the back cover to see if I could spot any burnt capacitors or anything out of the ordinary but I couldn't spot anything. I decided to plug the TV in and try turning it on while looking at the parts in the back. When I turn it on a little puff of smoke comes out of the back of the tube where the parts enter the tube. When I saw that my heart droped because I was hoping that this problem was caused by something small and inexpensive to fix.
Can someone tell me what part has gone dead and if this TV is worth paying somebody to repair?
