Sharp LC-50UB30U Backlight Issue

Good morning, I have an 18 month old Sharp Aquos 4K LC-50UB30U TV that has been experiencing what I believe to be a backlight issue. Specifically, on the bottom half of the TV the picture is visible but is dim and on the top half of the tv, the picture and brightness is normal. Turning the tv off and then back on again does not resolve the issue, however, if I unplug the tv for a minute or two and then plug it back in, the picture is normal (both the top and bottom half are normal brightness). If possible I would like to correct the issue before it leads to more serious issues.
Is this a backlight issue or have I misdiagnosed this? How do I properly diagnose this issue? Is it repairable?
