I have a Sharp Aquos LC-60LE650U 60" LCD TV which recently developed a very slender horizontal line which extended from one side of the TV to about half way across the screen. It appeared on every channel I tried and it would appear dark on light backgrounds and light on dark backgrounds. The line itself could be any color; not just black or white. I'm enrolled in a protection plan and my TV is going to be replaced with a Vizio. Sharp no longer makes my particular model (bought in November of 2013) but this Vizio seems comparable. In any case, I'm under no obligation to return the Sharp and I was considering just using it in another room where it would only get occasional use. All of this happened in the last few days. Tonight, I'm still watching the Sharp and I noticed something that makes me think this thing could be repairable after all: if I'm watching a TV show in standard definition, there is a black border all the way around the picture. There is no line in the border. The line only begins where the picture begins. This tells me that there's probably nothing wrong with the panel itself but rather the signal being fed to the panel. If that's the case, either a board or just a component needs replacement. Surely that could be done without breaking the bank. Am I wrong? Could someone point me in the right direction?
