Sharp LED Strobing

Hi I have an old Sharp LED model LC-42SB55E.
After using it for a couple of hours, the picture will start to flash quickly like a strobe. I’m guessing about 25Hz but that’s a pure guess.
If I play a movie then it tends to strobe when the picture is black or has a little bit of white text on a black background. It also seems to start when the screen changes (say between two scenes).
This is repeatable if I wind back and replay the part which flickered. It’s very pronounced but repeatable so it seems that the screen content triggers the strobing. Other parts of the movie are fine. The same thing happens if I watch any of the other inputs.
If the screen is flickering and I switch on the On screen TV menu (TV settings) then the flickering stops. The menu only takes up part of the display and you can see the movie outside of the menu. The movie stops flickering until I close the menu and it starts again.
