Single Horizontal Line on Panasonic CT-32G5B Can't Post

I have a Panasonic CT-32G5B that only shows a single horizontal line when turned on. I heard this is due to a vertical deflection problem. How do can I fix this, and where is the vertical deflection located in the TV?

The problem is not that simple. It could be a bad solder joint on the vertical IC which I believe is IC451 or the IC itself is bad. Additionally, it could the the jungle IC or the power supply which feeds B+ voltage to the vertical IC. I have found that many times when people start trying to correct the problem by changing parts by process of elimination usually wind up causing more problems for the tech who ultimately has to fix it.

Until the other guy said it could be the supply I agreed with his rant but no, he is trying to build up issues. Doing so he must be correct, he just erred. Its the vertical chip, and yes its IC 4xx now you also need to check the feed resistor because that got a serious zap as did the feed diode, and the doubler capacitor may be an issue, other than that its 99% certain the set is OK.

Thank you very much. Are the feed components located right around the IC? Also, where is the double cap? Thanks again.

No the feed usually comes from the flyback transformer in the form of a low value fusable resistor, that feeds the diode and that goes to the IC. The doubler capacitor has 1 leg to a pin of the IC and another to a diode value usually up to 100uF. find your vertical IC, google the number and you usually get a pinout or a test circuit layout which gives you a good idea as to voltages. Vertical failure due to the jungle etc can happen but its rare, usual with pana is dry joints on the chip
