Sony 34" (1994 TV) won't switch on...HELP!

I switched on my TV this morning, it's a Sony 34" from 1994.
Have never had a problem with it up to now but the set turned itself off.
The red L.E.D.s were flashing anyway I turned the set off and waited a few minutes.
I turned it on again and now there is no picture even though the set is powering up.
There isn't the loud clicking sound as I turn the power on anymore, it's a quieter sound.
Is it simply a dry joint or is it what seems to be the common problem, part number Q601?
