Sony CRT makes loud noise when powered on

Hi guys
I have a Sony CRT from the early 2000's, and when you press the power button, it makes a loud noise for about 1 second and then the picture appears. I have found that if you turn it on, off, and on again within about five minutes, it won't make the noise.
