hi

weird situation here

i have a sony lcd tv that when powered on the bravia spalsh screen comes on nice and bright and clear and then when the splash screen ends the pictures goes black after that..you can see the backlight on in the backgropund but nothing comes on the screen..no pic no menu nothing

the green light on the front of the tv is on and is solid...

any ideas??

also if i connect a dvd plzayer to it and see if i can at l4east get sound .. there is no sound either.....the bravia splash screen comes on for a few seconds and then goes away ...and then the tv just has a blank screen with backlight on...no pic no sound no menu nothing

Does the OSD indicate the SAME inputs you are hooked to?

there is no OSD or menu at all

nothing on the scrren at all just blank screen no sound no video nothing

but the bravia flash screen comes on perfect at startup of tv...after that...nothing.......green power light is solid

So how do you know that you have the TV "set" to the inputs you are connected to? Or that it is even switching from one input to another?

well i guess i dont know that the inputs are switching but i have never had a tv not swith inputs when you hit the input button on tv or remote

it would be too weird that the infrared and the tv button panel would go out at the same time...

all i can say is nothing shows on the screen at all and no sound...would you have any ideas?

i cant locate anything at all lonline regarding this ussue

Sounds like your Micro took a dump. Probably should change your main board. Good luck to you.

yeah i think its the main board too...there is a very large heat sink covering some large chip ....i wonder if i try to reflow that if it would fix the issue??
