Sony KDS-50A2000 Can't Post
OK. I've had the tv a year and a half now and the last few days its had a few issues. Whats going on is that the set will power on with the lamp burning like normal. A moment later the picture will go off screen. Audio works like normal. If you leave it like this it repeats the cycle. While its off, the power light will blink about 25 times. I've done power resets but it was only a temporary fix and then it didn't work after the one time it did. I have noticed an orange light blinking in the rear chassis. Sony has told me there may be an internal problem. Does anyone have any ideas so that I can try to get this working myself as the nearest sony tech is 70 miles away.

Lamps don't last forever. When was last time (if at all) the lamp was replaced?Wink

None since I have had it. I got it in December 2008 so its about a year and a half old. Plus its the power light flashing and not the lamp which is what leads me to believe its something different. <br>

On page 51 of the operating instructions; Do any of the four conditions "To maintain the quality..." apply to your situation?

Blocked vents and fans that aren't running are only other things I've had with that set (overheating).

I have it about 2 feet away from the wall on each end at least and its not enclosed. Do you think using some spray air to try to clear the chassis some could clear up any further fan issues?

Possibly. Things usually run better/cooler if clean.
