Hi, i have a ke-42ts2u, it has sound and its obvious the plasma display works because you can see the menu interface for the TV but I have no picture. I tried connectiing my PS2 to every port, s-video, component, and rca, i also tried hookin my computer up o the DVI interface. No picture would show but i could see the tv menu works fine. I had a tech come to my house and check it out, he thought it was the Q board. I think he mighta just sucked. A little water got into the TV and I can see where it ran down the inside of the back cover right onto the place where you connect all your components. Is there a way to be sure that this is the bad part? Is it possible to buy this part and return it if it's not the problem, I'd appreciate any help.

A free guarantee, well thats good. you tipped water in the thing so you have a random type fault. You got a guy out who probably put a quote on it as to what was seen, now you ask us to do better on a few lines of your description. Do you really think thats logical.

i appreciate your efforts, if it was one, maybe someone out there has seen my symptoms and can confirm the problem, please reply only if you want to help!!! BTW during a recent storm, a tree fell thru the roof, while I was away. Only a little water actually got in the TV, there is a trail leading to the Q board and stuff around it. The TV shows me what connecter im using on the interface, it'll say NTSC, S-Video or whatever, but the picture does not show. I do have sound though. I pointed the tech toward this spot and watched what he did. He didn't do anything I didnt do!!!!.

the problem with water ingress is corrosion in the future .you may fix todays fault and find another problem within 6 months or so.personally i would advise you to claim on your house insurance as the falling tree caused the leak and i bet they will write the tv off as not worth repair.

Look at that, with a little more information you get a lot more back. Chris has given you as good as you will get, If you are not insured, ask yourself what would insurance do and why, these guys are pro's who look to save the last cent, think before you leap into the unknown.
