Sony KP43HT20 Projection "Walleye" Picture, Distorted Color, Convergence

Could not get the set to power on last night, so I left it unplugged overnight. Turns on now and all functions seem to work, but there is a distinct "walleye" effect to the picture.
Specifically, the very center of the screen looks fine, but outward in all directions the picture is distorted and angled, with noticable lack of color convergence.
The only thnig I can think of that caused this was a small amount of water trickling down from a plant located on top of surround sound speaker.
I figure I'm looking at a big bucks repair, and would rather ditch the set and buy new if so. Any thoughts?
