Sony KP43T70 Wont recognize remote control

I have a Sony KP43T70 The tv works fine except it wont recognize commands from the remote control. I had the front panel off trying to find the sensor eye and all of a sudden it was working and after a couple hours stopped working again. I'm not exactly sure where the remote receiver eye is located on the tv and I was hoping to get this fixed myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
