Sony KV27V55.. Is It Dead? Can't Post

We have had this tv since new in '93. It has performed flawlessly all these years......until today! My wife turned it on this morning and after about 2 hours it shut off on its own,and will not power up! I unplugged it for about 30 min. to no avail. I have read where this could be a thermister problem...is this a possibility? Did it just get tired with age or what? Has our Sony finally crapped out!

We were looking to get something cheap for now, until we can afford a new 35" Sony. Does the Toshiba have decent picture quality? Any info will be appreciated.

You are probably right to be looking for a new set rather than investing more money in this one. I am seeing a lot of older Sonys with bad picture tubes and while this does not appear to be your problem, it could be following close behind. As far as a replacement set my favorite brand is a Panasonic but any name brand set that suits your personal preferences, except RCA and Zenith, shpuld serve you well. You also might want to check out www.FreeFlatScreens.com/default.aspx?referer7509165 fpr a chance to earn a free replacement for this set with a little effort on your part.
