Sony M68LNH090X drop on floor no video/sound but stand by light on Can't Post

On of my fried was moving last weekend and he has put his Sony on the couch and felt face down on the floor. Most of the impact was on the upper edge.
When power is on the relay click, two seconds after it clicks again, the standby light is on/off twice, shut off for 3 seconds and back for two and off...and goes on and on.
I checked for damage, loose connections...etc CRT seems OK. In rare occasions the HV when powering on seems to kick in for a second. I am not a technician but I understand electronics and in general how a TV works. Could the CRT be damaged by the impact? How would I know?

more likely one of the printed boards is cracked.check under each one especially round big transformers.you may get lucky and its just a plug/socket disconnected.its doubtful that the crt is so damaged as to prevent the tv coming on.

Latest TV sets with flat screens dont like being dropped, chances are high that the mask is warped. TV panels today are such that a crack on the board is almost impossible to repair due to thin print tracks so you are pushing uphill.

Thanks for your help. I inspected carefully again all boards and re-connected them, I even sodered a suspicious connection, so like you said the CRT is probably gone
