Hey,

My Sony TV, which is a model KP-53V75, isn't working properly. Yesterday it was working fine; I was watching it without any problems then I left and when I came back it wouldn't turn on. What happens when I press power is it makes the 'click' sound it usally makes and then goes into standby. The standby light blinks repeatedly and nothing happens. I've left it with the standby light blinking for over ten minutes and nothing happens. I don't really know the first thing about TVs, orginally I thought someone (lots of family members have been at my house on account of the holidays) may had just put it into standby mode but there doesn't seem to be a way to take it out of standby mode so I figured it's not that simple. I've had the TV for years and this is the first problem I've had with it. Any help would be greatly appreatied. Thanks.

The blinking standby light contains an error code which will help narrow down the cause of the problem. Post back with the number of blinks e.g. 4 blinks pause or just steady blinks.

I haven't be able to indentify any sort of code/pattern with the standby light, they just seem to be steady blinks over and over. I counted over 30 blinks with no pause at all.

The steady blink indicates that there is either no from the jungle IC or the IK video path is defective. Either condition requires troubleshooting by a qualified tech with the proper test equipement to determine the exact cause..

I have a similar problem with a Sony kds55a2000 but it have 4 blinking red lights, then 2 second pause, then repeats. No pic or sound. Suggestions on the problem and/or fix?

Here ya go......
Symbols & part #'s may not apply to your exact model...
But the symptom should;... i.e. No vertical Sweep...

Four blinks - No vertical Deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted. Check IC1509, Q1505

Do NOT attempt repairs unless you have some experience...
