Sony TV picture goes out after warmed up Can't Post

I have a Sony KV-20VM40 TV/VCR combo that has been giving me problems lately. It is 3 years old. It powers up normally and the sound is fine. The picture is fine for 10-20 minutes, when suddenly it will become engulfed in bouncing horizontal lines. The picture can be vaguely made out but it is jumpy and stretched out. Playing a tape in the VCR or connecting an external device to the extra video input does not result in any change to the picture when this happens. If the TV is turned off and on the picture remains faulty. The picture will work agian briefly if the TV is left off for an extended period.

I appreciate any input that you can give.

Check C362 on the MA board. It was sometimes installed backwards from the factory. Also check R301 (26v supply resistor) and IC301 (vertical output IC). Could also be a defective comb filter Ref#1502, depending on the symptom, which yours is quite vague.
