Sony Trinitron - very low sound Can't Post

Hello. I have a Sony Trinitron that is about 6 years old. Recently the sound kind of went out. If the volume is turned up all the way, you can hear it but it is very low. Other than that, the TV is working just fine. Does anyone have any ideas of what may be causing this?

Thank you,
Megan

Some Sonys use a small audio board that is prone to failure. It's a cheap easy fix if that is your culprit. you can go to www.electronix.com and put this number in the search box and it will show you a picture of the board. it's Part# : 8-746-371-10 SONY AUDIO BOARD. If your set has one of these, replace it and that should cure the problem. It will be located on a stand up board to the left side of center on the chassis.
