Sony Trinitron XBR - white lines on top Can't Post

top 1 inch of tv screen is black....white lines for 3 inches....the red, green, blue lines that go in that order and take up an inch. rest of tv is normal. From what i have read in other posts is the there might be a bad capacitor in the "vertical ic output"....what does the vertical ic output look like when i take the back cover off the tv? Any help would be appreciated....

thanks,

Mike Wilmes

There are many XBR models but the caps that are affected are probably identified as C501, C502, and C555. The vertical IC is a flat black component which is mounted to a heat sync. You might also want to check out www.FreeFlatScreens.com/default.aspx?referer=7509165 for an opportunity to earn a free replacement for this set with a little effort on your part.
