Sony Trinitron KV-32S40

When the TV is turned on it takes about a minute or two for the picture to display, then the picture turns off and on for a few more minutes until it finally remains. The sound is working properly right from the beginning though.

This happens every time the TV has been turned off for a while. It's like something has to warm up before it can work properly.

Any ideas where the problem is?

Your picture tube is aging and the IK circuit is blanking the video until the CRT warms up. in the early stages, this can usually be corrected by turning up the scree voltage at the flyback transformer. You might also want to check out www.FreeFlatScreens.com/?r=10948674 for an opportunity to earn a free replacement for this set with a little effort on your part.
