TOSHIBA 24AF44 *Power Outage* Can't Post

Had a really bad storm and power flickered, i think lightning hit the line but not sure. 2 sets were blown: Orion - replaced fuse and still not working. Toshiba 27in could not find replacement fuse. Any suggestions for repair would be great! Thanks Mad

Try www.wehaveparts.com to find the fuse that you need for the Toshiba. I suspect that you will probably find a shorted diode in the rectifier bridge in both sets as the result of the lightjing strike. If you live in a lightning prone area, plugging your electrical appliances into a surge protector is cheap insurance. You might also want to check out www.FreeFlatScreens.com/?r=10948674 for an opportunity to earn a free replacement for these sets with a little effort on your part.

If you have an ohmeter, check the resistance across the diodes. If one or more of them shows no resistance, it is shorted and needs to be replaced.
