Hello,
My son has had this TV for about 4 months and today he powered it on only to find the screen black (blank) yet you can hear the sound. I have tried to view the menu but no luck. At first I thought it was in sleep mode, but I followed the owners manual to take it out of sleep mode with no luck. Also tried the DVD and it will not accept a DVD. Sounds like some kind of power issue to me but really have no idea....

probably back lights not lit. look closely into the screen with a flashlight shining in to see if there is a faint picture

Hey, yeah I just checked with a flashlight and you are correct, I can see the picture.... Is this an easy, inexpensive fix? The 3 month warranty is over and the parts are protected for 1 year however I have to pay for shipping the set somewhere up North as well as the Labor so that probably won't be pratical.

either the inverter board is faulty or the screen is croaked as the lights may be built in and not seperate

so either way sounds like it won't be worth messing with.... sure hate to throw the thing away. Also, leaves a bad impression on Curtis which I will probably never purchase anything of theirs again. Then again, its probably made by another Major company like Sony anyway. Do you agree its not worth messing with?

probably Chinese junk. Try e-bay for a faulty one you can use for spares.

Well..... this is hard to believe but I decided to go to HH Gregg where I purchased the set, told them my story and they said to bring the TV back and they would give me a new one!
Mighty fine customer service !
