TV shutting off Can't Post
RCA F27242GY Chassis CTC185AB3
R4002V Standby Resistor gets so hot after 10 minutes the tv shuts off. What could cause the Rsistor to get so hot.

Sounds like it's not getting return voltage or enough from flyback thru R4113 & CR4703.....
Check R4113 for 100 ohms....
Check CR4703...
R4113 connects to one side of R4002V...
CR4703 connects to one side of R4113...
Those diodes have a way of checking good & still being bad..
Best to just replace it...
Original number is IN4002...
Do NOT use just any diode to replace it as it's in a high frqequency circuit...

Check voltage at junction of R4002V & R4113...
Should be about ~20 vdc when set is on...
Also take a looksee at pin #3 of U4102 & see if you are getting a FULL 12 vdc when set is on....
Also , how does the pix look & is sound OK when it's on ???

Found this in my notes -- R4002 high wattage resistor overheats when plugged in. Diode CR4110 shorted 27V 1.3W zener.
