Top quarter of picture missing	Can't Post

Hitachi TS-3940 TV has top quarter of screen blank. For a while it came on that way and slowly the rest of the picture came on but now just 3/4 of a screen of picture. Vertical sync is strong. Any ideas?

Check for bad electrolytics in the vertical circuit... very common. An ESR meter proves invaluable for this task.
