Toshiba 32XV555D backlight cutting out

The backlight has been playing up and now cuts out after 10-15minutes. I started noticing some horizontal banding a month ago then a bit of flickering. I see various LED strips on ebay but my model is not mentioned. If I take it apart and they look sam/similar how likely would they be to work. Any other sources for new/second hand.
Any help very gratefully received.

More info: I'd forgotten that I've previously repaired this TV and I've just found my notes. When I bought the TV second hand off ebay seven years ago. it wasn't working. "RECENTLY HAS STARTED TO GET A BLACK SCREEN. SOUND WORKS STILL, AND TO REMEDY ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS SWITCH OFF AND BACK ON."

I bought : TOSHIBA 37XV555D PE0535 V28A000709B1 MAIN BOARD

Same symptoms after fitting so I bought:

Power Board Toshiba 37" 37RV635D (SRV2169WW)
Same symptoms but after discussing on a forum and doing tests concluded the first PE0535 MAIN BOARD was faulty so I bought another: PE0535 TOSHIBA 32XV555D 32XV553D MAIN BOARD and it has been working for seven years.
I now realise it probably doesn't use LED as its about 12 years old.

So I deduce the PE0535 TOSHIBA MAIN BOARD is probably the problem. Does this make sense?
