Toshiba 36HF73 service menu help

When in wide screen mode the black bars are bowed. I can access the service menu but can't find the control to straighten the bars. I thought it was a defect so I returned it for another one and it has the same issue. Also, I'm willing to spend the extra $200 for the Sony HD ready TV if someone has some information on the difference between the two.
