Toshiba CX35C60 Can't Post

My Toshiba CX35C60 35" analog set is 10 years old. It has two tuners (PIP). It is having trouble with the autoprogram function for the Cable channels. It goes through the channels but with "TV" not "Cable" showing as it programs the Cable channels. Several channels aren't getting any reception (static). If I use the VCR tuner everything works so its not the Cable providers signal. Is there any maintenance I can do or is the tuner worn out? Can I switch out the PIP tuner, which I've never used? Do it yourself operation or TV repair job? Cost? Ideas? Thanks!

Your tuner is bad and the PIP tuner will not swap out. Just use the VCR hooked to the video inputs and live with it. The tuner, if you can get one is about $120.
