Toshiba Regza 37x3030DB Sound but no Picture Can't Post

Hi There,
My Toshiba Regza 37x3030DV will not show a picture. The sound is fine but nothing is displayed on the screen. Occasionally I see 'DTV' flash up for a second in the top left hand corner but then nothing. I've tried all the controls but all I get is sound.
Any ideas what could be wrong and what I can do to fix it?
Thanks, Richard.

It's an LCD TV. I just tried it again. It shows 'DVT' in the top with a slight blue background on the screen for a split second, then the screen goes black.

ok, that now sounds like the t-con board, but first check your inverter boards to see if they are ok,,. look for any burnt spots, and buffed caps,.

Ok thanks, I'll see if I can find a manual online to identify what and where those boards are.

I've found a manual but it doesn't mention those boards by name. Are they known as anything esle? I've done a visual check but can't see anything that looks damaged.

I was trying to work out how to post a photo on here, but can't see how. Is it ok if I PM you with picture to see if you can identify the boards in question? I've been over the top side of everything that is visible but can't see any bad capacitors.

Using the service manual I've identified the following boards:
Power - U01A
AV-Terminal - U03A
Digital U05A
Front -AV U03B
Key - U03D
LED - U03C
LOW-B -U02A
Signal - U04A
Are any of these the one's you suggested looking at - or possibly replacing for this fault? I have all the part numbers too.

I've not found the inverter board that you mentioned. It looked ok, but I'm about to take it out again to get a closer look.
It's part number 6632L-0442A and also has the following numbers LC370wu1 and PPW CC37TS-0
Anyone know where I could buy a replacement board?

Re: [sweetguy67] Toshiba Regza 37x3030DB Sound but no Picture [In reply to] Can't Post

Got the inverter board in front of me now. It has two 35v 680uf capacitors. They don't look bad but they both have a slight brown'black mark on the top and one of them looks very slightly domed on top. I don't have any experience of what they should look like, but comparing to other caps on other boards, none of those have marks on the top.
Do you reckon that could be the fault? I've taken a photo I'll try to send to you.
Do you think it's worth starting with trying to find a replacement inverter board and if so, where's the best place to find one?
Thanks for your help.

Re: [jts1957] Toshiba Regza 37x3030DB Sound but no Picture [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks for all your help Carl. New caps arrived today. Fitted them just now and now have the picture back !! Excellent news and thanks to your help, £5 for a service manual to identify the parts and £1.98 for the capacitors, we now have a working TV that was about to be scrapped.
The set menu appears to be stuck and buttons on the remote don't let me change the set-up menus. But that is another problem which I'll have a look at.
Richard.
