Vizio E390-A1 doesn't power on Can't Post

Hi there. I have a Vizio E390-A1 that doesn't always power on. Typically when powering on, the LED comes on and a few secounds later, the backlight fires up and it shows the Vizio logo. But about half the time, it gets stuck with the LED on but no backlight and I have no choice but to unplug it. Unplugging and (at their suggestion) holding down the power button for 30 secs, seems to fix it most of the time although there are times I just had to give up and leave it unplugged for a day or so.

I replaced the power supply board but it didn't appear to make a difference. Do I now try replacing the main board or is there more troubleshooting I can do?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
tim

Re: [taschmidt77] Vizio E390-A1 doesn't power on [In reply to] Can't Post

I appear to have solved my problem and I'm posting a followup in case anyone else has the same problem. After doing some research both here and elsewhere, I saw that the Vizio E-series tend to have EEPROM corruption issues. While I never saw someone describe symptoms that were exactly like mine, I decided to give it a try since a $15 EEPROM chip is obviously cheaper than a $60 main board. After replacing the EEPROM chip (which literally took maybe 5-10 minutes), my problems appear to have disappeared entirely!!
