Vizio SV320XVT screen issue Can't Post

Hello all, I was looking for some advice on an issue I am having with this tv. It is a 32"lcd Vizio. The picture works fine only at the very top maybe 2" of the screen. The rest of the screen has some vertical "bars" that show similar colors to what is being displayed in the working part but not picture in the bottom section at all. I tried to replace the T-Conn control board with no luck. I have had various people tell me different things that could be wrong including that the screen is bad. There are 3 other boards in the unit that I would be willing to swap but I don't want to try each of them for the cost factor. My next choice would be the Main Board that has all the inputs attached to it. Could the screen actually be bad? No other issues with sound or power. No damage to the tv, it just stopping functioning properly. I dont think it would be the main power board or the invertor board but I really have no clue.

I have a picture of the screen but am not sure how to upload it here....

Thanks!!!

Go to either photobucket.com or imageshack.com or similar website...
They're FREE to sign up & use....Smile....
Upload your pix there & then copy from there & paste here....
Watch so you don't paste such humungas pix that we need Imax to view them...
After you paste them , click on "Preview Post" to see how they will appear in the thread...
IF pix are too small or too large , go back to either photobucket or imageshack , adjust their size & re-paste....
SORRY , I can't help you with your TV , but if you post pix someone else can see what your problem is & hopefully help you out....

GOOD LUCK....Sly....

Johnnie D;.....

While strolling around this site earlier I ran across this link for LCD repairs;=>....

If you scroll down about half way you'll see this pix which looks a LOT like your problem;=>....

Bad T-CON board

Since I have NO experience on this type of TVs & they apparently do , it looks like a safe bet that that may be your problems solution....
Now I see that you also changed the T-con board...
Was the replacement genuine "new" ???
Or a used board ????
Either way , it looks like your "new" board may also be bad....Unsure...

Just thought you'd like to know.....Smile....

I did replace the T-Conn board with a used one but the picture was exactly the same afterwards leading me to believe that it was unlikely that that was the bad part....

Johnnie D;....

I can easily understand your logic in coming to that conclusion....
IF that were a "NEW" board....
Any reason to believe the "used" board is good ????...

Can anyone at least say if the screen is bad by looking at the picture? At least that will save me the time trying to figure out if it's an electronic issue with one of the boards. If it's a bad screen I am just going to scrap it.

Thanks!!

You can pick up an LVDS cable relatively cheap. The vertical lines look more like interference from a bad cable or loose connection.
