Vizio va26lhdtv10t no picture Can't Post

Hey guys, my tv has sound when on, but picture is not there. If i get really close to the tv, i can see a faint picture, but it is extremely dark. After reading some posts on here i'm assuming it is the backlight inverter i need to replace. I just want to know how hard it is to replace it myself. Anyone who has done this before feel free to fill me in, i would like to know before i spend 40 bucks on the part
Thanks

Bad backlight inverter board, OR power supply, OR the Inverter board NOT receiving all it's proper signals, OR Controller board is not telling the Inverter board to stay on , OR has defective CCFL bulb(s).

No more difficult than swapping car batteries.

Depends on what you have available to you.
A DVM to measure voltages at the correct test points (at the correct moment).
Either a set of good bulb(s) for the Inverter board in your unit to drive or a test jig to test the bulbs in your panel, in either case, generally 2 to 4 bulbs at a time.

How good are you at LCD panel disassembling - unsoldering, dismounting and changing pencil-lead thin 20 something inch long glass CCFL bulbs, resoldering and remounting - then reassembling panel - and have it still work?

Changing a board or module is relatively simple compared to this.
