Volume issues on Phillips pc0119n125	Can't Post

I bought a Phillips 17 inch tv, model #pc0119n125 a while back. for some reason, the volume has never gone all the way down. It will mute just fine, and the volume will go up and down. My wife and I keep the TV on at night and it's to loud to sleep with. Is there an internal control I can try? I have gone into the menu, but still can't find anything to fix it.

lots of tv's have non linear volume adjustments ie its too loud on the lowest level volume bar and the next step down is no sound at all. you have to live with it as its poor software design
