What causes this Samsung screen blob Can't Post

What might have caused this problem with my Samsung LCD TV? It's a weird shaped black blob which is most noticeable on the right hand side of the screen.

Is it something I could fix by replacing a board/soldering capacitors or is it in the LCD itself?

LCD itself.
Either smoke or other contaminant between the various polarizers/filters or the same are separating or bulging.
